ShellPilot Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 7, 2026

ShellPilot is a professional SSH terminal, SFTP client, and optional AI assistant for iPhone. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it is stored, and how the optional AI features work.

1. Server connection details

Hostnames, ports, usernames, passwords, and private keys you add are stored in secure on-device storage so ShellPilot can connect to your servers. This information is used only to establish SSH and SFTP connections you initiate.

2. Terminal and file activity

Commands you run and files you browse or transfer are sent directly between your device and the server you connect to, over the SSH or SFTP protocol. ShellPilot does not route your terminal sessions or file transfers through its own servers.

3. Optional AI assistant

The AI assistant is off by default. If you enable it, you choose the provider (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek, Qwen, Zhipu, Moonshot, or a custom endpoint) and supply your own API key. Your prompts and relevant terminal context are sent directly from the app to that provider — never through a ShellPilot proxy server.

The third-party AI provider processes this information according to its own terms and privacy policy. Please review the policy of the provider you choose.

4. Face ID and app lock

Face ID authentication is performed entirely by iOS. ShellPilot only receives a success or failure result and never sees or stores your biometric data. An optional pattern lock is stored only on your device.

5. Optional iCloud sync

If you enable iCloud sync, your saved server list is synced through your personal iCloud account to your other devices signed in with the same Apple ID. This data is governed by Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy; we have no access to it.

6. Data we do not collect

ShellPilot does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not sell personal data, and does not operate analytics servers that track your usage.

7. Children's privacy

ShellPilot is not directed at children under 13 and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Deleting your data

Delete saved servers or keys inside the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. If iCloud sync was enabled, you can remove synced data from your iCloud account settings.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the new version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
