What is 妮妮来了?

妮妮来了 tells you when the Douyin streamers you follow go live. A server watches their rooms around the clock and pushes a notification the moment a stream starts, so you find out whether or not the app is open. It also keeps a history of every session, an optional wrap-up notification when a stream ends, and an in-app wiki of the community's running jokes.

Notifications

I'm not getting live alerts. What should I check?

Two things first: that the "real-time live alerts" switch is on in the app, and that notifications are allowed for 妮妮来了 in iOS Settings › Notifications. Also check whether you set quiet hours — alerts that fall inside that window are skipped. There is no cap on the number of alerts, so you never need to worry about running out.

Does it keep watching when the app is closed?

Yes. The watching runs on a server, not on your phone, and alerts are delivered through Apple's push service — so they arrive with the app closed or in the background. While the app is open in the foreground, it additionally refreshes the on-screen status about once a minute.

What is the wrap-up summary, and why is it off by default?

It's a separate switch in Settings that sends one notification when a stream ends, telling you how long it ran and — if there was more than one session that day — the running total. It's off by default because wanting to be called to a stream is not the same as wanting to be told at 3 a.m. that it's over, so we strongly suggest turning on quiet hours alongside it. It only applies to streamers you already subscribe to, and sessions shorter than five minutes aren't reported: a brief network wobble looks like an end and a restart, and that isn't really wrapping up.

How do quiet hours work?

Pick a start and end hour in Settings and nothing is pushed to that device during the window. The hours are read in your phone's own time zone, which is sent along with the setting, so a "1 a.m. to 8 a.m." window means your 1 a.m., not the server's.

What are time-off notices?

The server watches the bio on a streamer's Douyin profile page. When wording like "on leave" or "not streaming" newly appears there, you get a notification and the sentence they wrote is shown as-is on the notices tab. Only newly added wording counts — plenty of streamers keep a permanent "resting today" line in their bio, and that shouldn't fire every day. It also means the feature misses things: a break announced only on stream, or in a post rather than the bio, can't be read. Treat it as a convenience, not a guarantee.

Streamers

Can I add my own streamers?

Yes. On the monitoring tab, tap "add streamer" and enter the Douyin ID — the part after live.douyin.com/ in the live-room address; pasting the whole address works too. Anyone you add is subscribed automatically.

A streamer I just added says "waiting to connect". Is that a problem?

No, that's normal — the server hasn't picked them up yet, and it usually clears within a minute or two on its own. There's no need to add them again.

A streamer shows "no live room". What now?

That means Douyin doesn't resolve a live room for that ID — usually because the account ID was entered instead of the live-room ID, or because the account isn't set up for streaming. Waiting won't fix it; remove the entry and add the correct ID.

What does the one-tap subscribe button do?

It turns on live alerts for everyone on the monitoring list at once; tapping again turns them all off. Individual switches still work as usual. Streamers marked "no live room" are subscribed too, but nothing can be pushed for them until the server resolves their room.

How do I remove or hide someone?

Press and hold their card. Streamers you added yourself can be deleted, which removes them from the server too. Streamers from the built-in roster can only be hidden — that's local to your phone and turns their alerts off; the shared list is untouched. A "N hidden · restore all" row at the bottom of the list brings them back.

Session history

Are the recorded stream lengths accurate?

They're based on when the server detected the start and end, not the true moments, so expect a margin of up to about a minute. If a stream was already running before monitoring began, the start is unknown and the record says so — it won't pass the moment of discovery off as the start time. Sessions crossing midnight are shown across both dates.

How is "alerted N times" counted?

Only notifications actually delivered to your phone count. The app spotting a live stream during its own refresh isn't an alert. You can wipe the log from Settings › clear alert history; it starts again from zero and doesn't affect future alerts.

Account

Do I need an account?

No. Every feature works signed out. Sign in with Apple exists for one reason: so the streamers you added survive a new phone or a reinstall. Without it, they are tied to a local identifier that is regenerated when you reinstall.

How do I delete my account?

Settings › account › delete account removes the account and the data attached to it from the server. Signing out instead just unlinks this device and keeps the account intact.
