Classified Files is a private photo vault disguised as a calculator. It is built so that we cannot access your content: the app has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, and no servers operated by us. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it lives.
1. Data we collect
We collect nothing. The app does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, usage data, or diagnostics with us or with third parties. There is no registration and no tracking.
2. Your photos and videos
Photos and videos you import are encrypted with AES-256 (Apple CryptoKit) and stored inside the app's private storage on your device. Items you import can be removed from the system photo library only when you confirm the system prompt. Your content never leaves your device unencrypted.
3. Unlock code, pattern, and Face ID
Your unlock number and optional unlock pattern are stored only on your device and are used solely to derive access to the encrypted vault. Face ID is performed entirely by iOS; the app only receives a success or failure result and never sees or stores your biometric data.
4. Optional iCloud Drive sync
If you enable iCloud Drive sync, the encrypted files (ciphertext only, never plaintext) are stored in your personal iCloud Drive so you can restore them after reinstalling the app or switching devices with the same Apple ID. This data is governed by Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy; we have no access to it.
5. Optional iCloud backup
You can choose whether the app's encrypted data participates in device backups (iCloud or computer backups). Backed-up content remains ciphertext. If you disable it, a lost or erased device cannot restore vault content from backups.
6. Children's privacy
Classified Files is not directed at children under 13, and since we collect no data at all, we knowingly hold no data about anyone, including children.
7. Deleting your data
Delete items inside the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored encrypted data. If iCloud Drive sync was enabled, you can remove the synced ciphertext from the Files app or iCloud settings.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the new version will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes.
