NearLocky is a Mac utility that locks and unlocks your Mac based on the Bluetooth distance of a device you choose. This policy explains what little information the app touches, and confirms that none of it ever leaves your Mac.
1. Bluetooth signal data
NearLocky reads the Bluetooth signal strength (RSSI) of the device you select in its preferences, purely to decide when to lock or unlock your Mac. This data is processed entirely on your device in real time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere — not even to the developer.
2. Accessibility permission
If you choose the system lock method, NearLocky requests Accessibility access solely to trigger macOS's own lock-screen shortcut on your behalf. This permission is used only for that purpose and is never used to read, log, or transmit anything else on your Mac.
3. Preferences storage
Your chosen device, RSSI thresholds, lock method, appearance, and language settings are stored locally in macOS's standard preferences system on your Mac only. They are never synced or uploaded anywhere.
4. Data we do not collect
NearLocky has no ads, no in-app purchases, no analytics SDKs, no account system, and no network requests of its own. It does not collect, sell, or share any personal data.
5. Children's privacy
NearLocky is a general-audience utility and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored preferences. No account or cloud data exists to delete elsewhere.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
